Maintenance on School's Drop-Off Area

Dear parents,

As mention before, the school's drop-off area will be closed due to road maintenance. We were suppose to get it done on the school holiday but the contractor canceled it. So, instead of being done earlier now the tarmac will be done on the 11th of October (Saturday) and the road will be closed for 14 days. As per request of PJH and their contractor.

Our drop-off area will be closed from:
11th October (Saturday) - 26th October (Sunday)

And it will be opened again on 27th October (Monday)

Also a gentle reminder the 27th October is Deepavali - public holiday and 28th October the school is closed as the annual concert was held on Saturday.

We will see you again on the 29th October (Wednesday), the school will proceed as usual.

Thank you for your understanding and I hope you make the necessary action in making the arrival and dismissal as smooth as possible for everyone.

Arrival and Dismissal

Copied from CECPTJ/018/08

Dear parents,

Through our survey form a parent requested we allow them to drop of their children off at the main door, so we have decided to try this for arrival and dismissal for one month trial period, starting 24th July 2008. The success of this will depend on all the parent's co-operation.

Please take note of the following rules for arrival and dismissal of students.

1.Paying school fees
Parents are not allowed to park their car inside the kindergarten compounds (staff parking area) if you wish to pay school fees please park your car outside then go to the office.

2.Drop off only
No stopping car to take child into the kindergarten, it is a drop off only. Teachers will open the door for your child. If you wish to take your child to the classroom please park outside and then walk into the school.

3. Don't block other cars.
It is a one way system "in and out"

To make the arrival and dismissal as smooth as possible please follow the above rules, we will be testing for one month. If we find that all goes well we will adopt this system. But if we find that parents are not co-operating then we will stop it immediately for the safety of the children.

Sorry for the inconvenience

Firstly I would like to apologise to our parents for the inconvenience that we have cause during the sign in/out. Parents didn't have to actually sign their child in, we just needed to take note of the time your child enters our school. In a way teachers can learn the names of all the children in school and also we can see the pattern in your arrival and dismissal time for safety and extra precaution.

Adding security

Starting next week, we will be implementing a sign in/sign out weekly sheets for all the children. It is still a trial base but I'm sure it is a good idea to keep an eye on them. As the teachers are on gate duty they will be in charge of taking their attendants, notes (like if someone other then the parents are sending/ taking or the child is not feeling well - things like that.) It's also a good practice in remembering every single child's name.

As for daycare/extended programme children we have a slightly different form, which requires the parents to actually sign out for the children. Indicating who is picked up the child and at what time.

Hopefully we have your co-operation in implementing this procedure is making the school a safer place.

Thank you =)

12th May 2008

Dear Parents,

It has been reported in the news that there have been some cases of “Hand Foot and Mouth disease”. As a kindergarten we have been on the alert since the reports came to light. Our priority is in the children’s safety so we have decided to take the necessary preventive measures. We hope we have your cooperation and partnership to ensure the effectiveness of these measures.

Kindly attend to the following:

1. Please ensure your child brings his/her own hand towel/handkerchief to school for drying his/her hands.
2. Please ensure that your child brings his/her own tumbler to school to prevent sharing.
3. Please advise your child not to share drinks or food with his/her friends
4. If you do identify any symptoms/signs of a rash, red spots, on the palm and foot, sores in the mouth of your child, please send your child for a medical consultation immediately.
5. Kindly keep your child at home and keep the school informed if he/she has a flu and fever. Please ensure that your child recovers completely before sending him/her back to school.
6. If your child contacts HFMD please inform the school, recovery is 1 to 2 weeks until the rashes on hands and feet heal and the fever has stopped. Together with a letter from the doctor saying he/she is fit to come to school.

Your kind cooperation is very much appreciated. Please do not hesitate to call the school should you have any inquires or doubts regarding this matter.

Thank you,

Yours faithfully,

Zariah Muhammad@ Janice

Welcoming a new payment system

Now, we can start out new payment system via Credit Card to pay the monthly school fees and term fee payment. Making it easier for parents, especially the busy ones. Of cause we still accept cash and cheque, although we prefer cheque or credit card (cash is just scary =P). The receipt would only be given to parents after the transaction is complete and HQ gives me the green light.

Making it easier, these are the things you can pay with credit card:

1. Monthly School Fees
2. Books/Materials - Term fees
3. Supplementary Fees -Term fees
4. Transport Fees *not implemented yet*

For those who is curious about why the transport fees is not implemented yet? It is because when we get our own school bus *which I heard is coming soon - cross fingers*, the transport fees will be in our school system and there for we can charge it in the school fees system.

Anyway, for parents who are interested in the credit card you can get the form at the office.

Children Are Like Butterfly

A Child is like a butterfly in the wind
Some can fly higher than others,
But each one flies the best it can.
Why compare one against the other?
Each one is different.
Each one is special.
Each one is beautiful.

Speaking of butterflies. We received two cocoons from 'Taman Rama-Rama', to show the children and teach them about butterflies. Their nature of what they eat and how they become a butterfly. And to our luck, both of the cocoons turned into a beautiful butterfly.

We had a show-and-tell with the children and set free the butterfly at assembly while the children sang the 'Butterfly song' which they kept singing and singing through-out the day.
Sadly I didn't have any picture of the even but I do have the picture of the butterfly in the garden the next day. I guess it made us their new home.
